ISAT Week
It's that time again---ISAT's are here. I sent home a letter explaining our extra snacks and celebrations for this week. The kids have worked hard to get prepared for this week. All that is left to do, is to make sure we are well rested and positive about the week to come. Healthy breakfasts and snacks are helpful as well! Our schedule this week will be normal (with the exception of ISAT testing) and we will continue to have our regular specials. Here is a look at our week ahead:
* Conference forms and pre-conference sheets were attached to the ISAT letter that went home on Friday. Please fill these out and send them back as soon as possible! This will allow me to set my schedule and reschedule anyone is needed.
* Ben is our MVP!
* ISAT testing this week is as follows:
Monday-- Reading 1 in the afternoon
Tuesday -- Math 1 in the morning, Reading 2 in the afternoon
Wednesday -- Math 2 in the morning, Reading 3 in the afternoon
Thursday -- Math 3 in the morning, Science 1 in the afternoon
Friday -- Science 2 in the morning, celebration and movie in the afternoon
The kids will not have more than one long response test in one day!
* Please make sure your child is well rested this week and in school (if not sick)! The kids are welcome to bring in 2 snacks this week so they can have one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
* We will be watching James and the Giant Peach on Friday. This movie is rated PG. If you do not want your child participating, please let me know so other arrangements can be made.
* In math this week, we will review vocabulary and concepts that will help with our testing skills. We will have one more practice of our problem solving and long response problems. No math study links will be given this week!
* The kids finished up their explorers projects last week. We will review a bit more in science for our ISAT tests.
* The genre of the month is biographies! The kids should pick out a person of interest and find a biography on this person. Your child should bring in his/her biography by March 7th for me to approve (I will be checking to make sure the book is "just right"). The report this week will be done in a presentation format with his/her paper bag puppet. All directions were given on Friday and the kids received their note taking sheets. All reports are due by April 2nd.
* I think that covers it. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!
